The Internal Communications Manager at DIGI Belgium is responsible for creating a cohesive, engaging, and informed workplace culture that embodies our brand’s values and tone of voice.

This role connects and informs employees across all levels, fostering an open and collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include managing communication channels, organizing events, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with DIGI’s vision, values, DNA and culture. Ultimately building a strong community where all are informed and have access to the necessary information.
In this role, the Internal Communications Manager serves as a vital bridge between DIGI’s leadership and its employees, shaping a culture that’s consistent, collaborative, and reflective of the company’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal communication strategy & planning
In close collaboration with the Marketing team and HR, and other business stakeholders, you define the DIGI internal communication strategy and ensure a detailed planning and follow up of all activities and messages.
You apply an approach per target group and use different channels and templates, with a DIGI proof look and tone of voice.
Messages can imply regular business updates, group messages, employee information and informal content.
Some examples: Town hall sessions, an internal newsletter, video screens messages, intranet content, community building messages, employee initiatives and feedback initiatives...
2. Content Creation and Manage message consistency
Develop relevant content for each internal channel. Develop and enforce guidelines that ensure all internal communication aligns with DIGI’s tone, style, and values. Train managers and key communicators in these guidelines to ensure consistency in all internal messaging.
Internal Newsletters: Produce and distribute a regular internal newsletter that highlights company news, project updates, team achievements, and upcoming events. This newsletter should keep employees informed and reinforce key company messages.
Internal Platforms and Channels: Manage internal communication channels (e.g., intranet, whatsapp, email) to ensure timely and effective distribution of information. Continuously seek new ways to engage employees and encourage two-way communication on these platforms.
Top Topical Day Campaigns: Coordinate internal campaigns around key topical days, such as Internet Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, the holiday season… Create engaging, brand-aligned messaging, goodies and activities that celebrate these occasions and foster a festive atmosphere within the workplace.
3. Employee Onboarding and Orientation on DIGI values and communication standards
Weekly Onboarding Sessions: Participate in the weekly onboarding sessions for new hires in close collaboration with the HR department. These sessions introduce DIGI’s mission, core values, tone of voice, and company-wide communication standards. Explain essential do’s and don’ts to ensure every new employee understands how to communicate effectively within the DIGI community and externally.
Orientation Material Development: Prepare and update part of the onboarding materials, including presentations, guides, and FAQ documents, ensuring they reflect the latest company standards, DIGI values and communication channels.
4. Organizational Events and Culture-Building
Ensure the organisation of internal communication and community building events (formal as well as informal, ...) with a focus on info sharing and connection. Keeping all DIGI employees engaged and connected.
Key examples:
All-Employee Day: Plan and execute an annual All-Employee Day that brings everyone together to celebrate company milestones, review accomplishments, and share upcoming goals. This event should foster unity, inspire pride in DIGI, and strengthen connections across teams.
Family Day: Organize an annual Family Day to welcome employees’ families into the DIGI community. This day includes family-friendly activities and opportunities for families to experience the company culture.
Regular team-Building Activities: Organize and promote regular (non-binding) team-building activities, such as after-work drinks, BBQs, sports sessions, or other interactive events. These activities are designed to strengthen team dynamics, encourage interdepartmental bonding, and create a positive, inclusive workplace atmosphere. In your role you also encourage internal employees to come up with proposals and you support them getting the message spread in DIGI.
Idea Boxes: Implement and maintain accessible “idea boxes” across various communication platforms, allowing employees to share feedback, suggestions, and innovative ideas. Ensure submissions are reviewed regularly and, where possible, communicate implemented changes to show responsiveness to employee input.
5. Additional Responsibilities
Metrics and Reporting: Track engagement levels on internal communications, onboarding sessions, surveys, and events. Regularly report to Leadership and Senior Management on employee engagement trends, providing recommendations for enhancements.
Feedback Loop: Establish and maintain a feedback loop with employees to gather ongoing insights about the effectiveness of internal communications efforts. This includes monitoring participation in team-building events and gathering feedback post-events to improve future activities.
Crisis Communication: Develop and execute internal communication strategies during crises or significant organizational changes, together with the PR manager and HR.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training for department leaders to improve communication skills and ensure the company’s tone of voice, culture and DNA are maintained across all teams.
Vereisten
Key competences:
· Strong knowledge and experience in key responsibilities of the role. Communication as well as events and internal community building.
· Masters written and verbal communication in Dutch, French and English.
· Has relevant digital and technical skills: Is familiar with intranet platforms, email tools and templates, and collaboration software and platforms. Is able to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives using analytics tools.
· Can design visual and multimedia content using internal tools, templates and guidelines.
· Is a talent in organising events from small to big versions. With a strong grip on the planning and an eye for detail.
· Shows ownership and works independent. Aligns regularly with Marketing and HR and other business stakeholders.
· Is a strong communicator and builds internal networks and connections easily.
· Is able to plan ahead and at the same time is able not stick to the plan, when needed. Is comfortable with working on the spot and keeps an eye on the planned events and alerts management of the feasibility of the plans.
· Keeps all stakeholders informed and involved at any time. Acts as a team player and connects departments.
· Has positive vibes and can becomes quickly a real DIGI ambassador.
