The GPON Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of GPON solutions, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-speed broadband services to our customers. The ideal candidate will have expertise in GPON technology, fiber-optic networks, and a commitment to delivering reliable and high-performance connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain GPON solutions to deliver high-speed broadband services to residential and business customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of GPON into the existing network infrastructure
• Configure and optimize GPON equipment, including Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) and Optical Network Terminals (ONTs)
• Implement and manage GPON protocols and standards to ensure efficient data transmission
• Identify and resolve GPON network issues promptly, minimizing service disruptions
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex problems
• Monitor and optimize QoS parameters to enhance the overall performance and user experience on the GPON network
• Implement changes to improve network efficiency and resource utilization
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of GPON configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
• Create and update documentation for GPON network architecture and topologies
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the GPON network against potential threats
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices

Must Haves Qualities & Talents:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or experience in a related field
• Proven experience as a GPON Engineer or similar role in the telecommunications industry
• In-depth knowledge of GPON technology, fiber-optic networks, and associated protocols
• Hands-on experience with GPON equipment, including OLTs and ONTs
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in English and Dutch and/or French
