- Designing and implementing computer systems and networks:
Systems engineers are responsible for creating and implementing the architecture for computer systems and networks. This includes designing hardware configurations, network layouts, and software solutions. - Installing and configuring systems:
Systems engineers install, configuring and maintain software, hardware, and network devices: administration of Microsoft Windows servers, including the administration of Active Directory, Firewalls, Windows Clustering; They ensure that all systems are properly set up andfunctioning correctly. - Monitoring system performance:
Systems engineers monitor daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of system hardware, server resources, system processes and reviewing system and application logs. They may use performance monitoring tools to track system usage, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance. - Troubleshooting and resolving system issues:
When system issues arise, systems engineers are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving them. They may diagnose the root cause of the issue, implement a fix, and test the system to ensure it is functioning correctly. - Maintaining system documentation:
Systems engineers document the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting processes for all systems. They update documentation as changes are made to the systems and ensure that all information is accurate and up to date. - Collaborating with other IT professionals:
Systems engineers work closely with other IT professionals, such as network administrators, database administrators, and software developers. They collaborate on projects, share knowledge and expertise, and ensure that all systems are integrated and working together seamlessly. - Implementing security measures:
Systems engineers implement security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access or breaches. This may include configuring firewalls, implementing encryption, and monitoring access logs. - Planning for system upgrades and expansions:
Systems engineers develop plans for upgrading and expanding systems and networks. They consider current system performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions for enhancing system capabilities. Implement and manage virtual machines using Hyper-V server virtualization.
Job requirements
Must have qualities & talents:
- Very good computer operating skills.
- Proficiency in using text editors (Word) and databases (Excel).
- Knowledge of management programs.
- Very good knowledge of English and French/ Dutch
- Continuous maintenance of professional knowledge.
- Continuous improvement and acquisition of knowledge in the field of activity and applicable legislation.
- Strong relationship skills within and outside the department.
- Demonstrated personal skills, including emotional balance and self-confidence.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Capability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational capacities and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies in a short time.
