Solution Architect 5G - Mobile Private Networks

 As a  Solution Architect 5G, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced 5G solutions tailored to the needs and business drivers of our customers. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that our solutions deliver exceptional performance, take into account scalability, reliability and security, and meet customer-specific requirements. 

Here's what you'll dive into:

• Design and architect innovative 5G Mobile Private Network solutions tailored to meet customer needs and industry challenges.

• Collaborate across teams, including sales, engineering, and operations, to create comprehensive network designs and seamless implementation plans.

• Provide expert technical guidance to support pre-sales discussions and help design customer-specific solutions.

• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies to develop optimal network architectures and deployment strategies.

• Coordinate with the engineering team to advance the standardization and automation of Citymesh’s mobile private network solutions.

• Act as a technical advisor during implementation and integration phases, ensuring the solution aligns with customer requirements, timelines, and Citymesh quality standards.

• Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with emerging 5G technologies, evolving standards, and market trends, evaluating their impact on Citymesh’s solutions.

• Document solution designs, deployment guidelines, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.

• Engage directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and deliver technical solutions that create measurable value.

Must Have Qualities & Talents

• Masters degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience or profound interest in designing and implementing 4G/5G networks, preferably in private or enterprise environments. 

• Understanding of 5G architecture, including core network, RAN, and associated technologies (e.g. MEC, NAC, slicing).

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements and deliver practical solutions. 

• Excellent communication skills in one or the two main languages in Belgium (NL/FR) and English to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Genuine interest in the business aspect and operational value a 5G private network brings to our customers in different verticals (e.g. industry, public sector, airports, ports,...) 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements and project deployments

• Minimum 3 days per week presence at our Oostkamp office to collaborate and engage with the team.

Nice to have skills

• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Proxmox) and cloud-native network functions. 

• Experience with high-level link budget calculations and radio designs

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and spectrum management for private 5G networks
